Piper's Prayer

This was Piper's bedtime prayer last night:

God, thank you for food, thank you for a family, thank you for saving Jesus.

So sweet and so heartbreaking in many ways. Piper had come up to me the day before and asked me to promise that mommy and daddy would never leave her. Those words just shot through my heart. When I mentioned it that night to Mike, he said that when he was talking to her about going to the hospital for some tests, that she asked if we all go with her and not leave her. When he said we would all go and would not leave, she said, "everyone leaves me."
.
Piper has now been with us longer than any of her four previous "homes." I realize that at a little over a year, she must now be dealing with so much.

Oh, bless her heart, I got tears in my eyes reading your post. Charlotte is always saying, "Don't leave me!" ,whenever we are getting ready to go somewhere. I think in time they will hopefully learn that we are here forever and will always be their forever family!

Sweet Piper! She's home FOREVER!!! If Dad has his way~She will probably still be at home when she gets married and has children.

It can be so hard to hear thing they say but what a miracle that she can voice her fears and feels comfortable voicing them already!

Oh that tore right into my heart. What a sweet child she is. I pray that she will realize in her heart that mommy and daddy and brother will always be with her no matter what!

Oh my gosh that is heart breaking. But at the same time - how lovely and reassuring that it is your sweet family that she is wishing never leaves her, as she loves you all so much. I hope that the tests she has looming are nothing serious. Lisa :)

Don't they have a way of touching our hearts! She'll realize forever in time, but in the meantime how touching. I love her prayer.

Ready to share more about brother YET???

Our sweet girls have lost so much. I wish I could wipe all of that pain away forever.
