Men are 20% more likely to get pancreatic cancer than women and the majority of cases occur in people over the age of 65. The incidence rate among African-Americans is 40 to 50% higher than other ethnic groups.
.
Please do not let this statistic fool you. Our of all of my pancreatic cancer affected friends that I have met, all but 2 were women and many were under 65. I am not certain as to the age of one man, but one of my close PC Friends lost her dear son 2 months to the day after my mom died at the age of 38. They were all Caucasian.

Hey Ashley! I'm glad you're putting this info out there for folks. I've been meaning to tell you how sorry I am for your loss with your mom's passing. I remember seeing your blog at times last year and had read about it. But I did want you to know I had been keeping up even though I never left a note. :)
Many hugs,
Jenny
Thank you for sharing this very important information. It just reminds me ONCE AGAIN, that I am behind on my annual checkups. I need to stay on top of things as much as I can.
