Piper is having a very difficult time overcoming her fear of Mike. She has probably been around very few men and she is just terrified to be held, pushed, dressed, fed, etc. from Mike. I can only imagine how hard this is for Mike. He has been trying his best, but I know that his feelings are hurt and he is ready for a change. Harrison and I left today just to go to the lobby for ice cream and she cried the entire time. These were the pictures from when we got back. She looked so cute that I just had to get some photos.

Ashley- our daughter was the same way. She hated my husband for the first several weeks. You know this is very common. Please remind Mike to not take it personally. If he is patient and consistantly there it WILL get better. It took Sunder a good 4 weeks to decide DH was ok. and after 6 months have they bonded totally and completely.
Our son was the same also. He would not go to daddy for the whole time in China or 2 weeks after we got home. Now he and daddy are best buds. It take time and patience and was SO hard on my husband. Tell your husband it will get better.
Thank goodness for people like Torrie - who can remind Mike that it will be okay. I can't imagine ANYONE ever not liking Mike once they know him. And I know Piper will be the same. Especially when she constantly sees how much Harrison and you both love him to pieces!
This is sad, and yes she is still adorable sad but I think it was good to leave and to show her you came back as well. I'm sure she is going through so many emotions..it will get easier. I know it.
Poor Mike and Piper, bless her heart! In no time at all she'll be daddy's little girl! Praying for you all. You will have clearer air in Guangzhou and it makes a huge difference. It was amazing to me to see the cloud/smog layers when the plane took off both from Zhengzhou and Guangzhou.
Tell Mike to never fear! It will change!
Steven had that problem with Stephanie (one of the foster children). She had been around women for most of her 2 years. She didn't even want him to touch her.
By the end of a week she started to warm to him. After about 3 weeks, they couldn't be separated.... I was no longer the hero!
Be patient! She'll come around!
It will get better. Hang in there Baba!
My little girl Mina did the SAME thing to my husband for the first few weeks. It really broke his heart. She LOVES her Daddy now. It did take a little while for her to fully come around. I read somewhere that a lot of times kids pick one person to fully "latch" onto during this transition. It is hard for them to open themselves up to more than one person. Which made sense to me at least. She will come around! She is so precious.
We love following along.
Many Blessings,
Amy
